Salon History
In July 2026, the Salon hosted a private reading of a sharp, chaotic contemporary farce by a woman playwright, read by a room of women and gender-expansive artists.
Our conversation moved from the mechanics of this raucous comedy into questions of gender, power, and perception.

The initial salon gathering in May of 2026 centered on contemporary dialogue and the social ecosystems that form around theatrical training and ambition.
Hosted in the studio of local visual and performance artist Katie Macyshyn, a DC metro area performance artist, designer, and art educator who facilitates workshops and multimedia rituals.
