Guevara

Nadia Guevara (she/her) is a director, producer, administrator, and an award-winning actor. She is the 2022-2024 recipient of The Drama League Stage Directing Fellowship.

Currently, Nadia freelance directs across New York and Washington, D.C., and consults for Folger Shakespeare Library. She is the founder and executive producer of Bachata Sáfica, which promotes Latino/é music, dance, and performers in a queer-centered environment.
​
Previously, Nadia served as Director of Arts Engagement & Education at GALA Hispanic Theatre in Washington, D.C. where her pandemic project Leyendo con GALita garnered over 40,000 views. In San Diego, she served as Associate Artistic Director at New Village Arts, where she spearheaded their inaugural sensory-friendly mainstage performance, and their new program Teatro Pueblo Nuevo, which included their first-ever Latinx TYA and Latinx mainstage production.

As part of the Latinx Theatre Commons Advisory Committee, she served on the selection committee for 50 Playwrights Project's Best Unproduced Latinx Plays. She is a 2019 fellow of the Advocacy Leadership Institute, National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures.

In 2018, she was awarded the Actor of the Year Craig Noel Award for her performances in Cloud Tectonics, The Wind and the Breeze, and Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley after receiving a nomination for Outstanding Lead Performance for Cloud Tectonics, directed by Herbert Sigüenza. Nadia has since retired from acting.
